Sometimes you will hear someone say that they are doing the work of prayer. You wonder, “what does that mean?” I suppose you can attribute many meanings to that phrase, but here is what it means for us at the Groveville United Methodist Prayer Ministry:
Praying is loving and loving is doing. God knows who is in need of prayer doesn’t he. So why do we need to pray?
- To be like our savior, who’s first thought is always for us and who, in agony on the cross, prayed, “Father forgive them for the know not what they do.”
- To be cognizant of the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ and not only that, to lift our hands to help them as well.
- To praise His name for all He is.
We would hope you will join us each Thursday evening at 7:00PM in our church sanctuary to share in this labor of love.
