Sometimes you will hear someone say that they are doing the work of prayer. You wonder, “what does that mean?” I suppose you can attribute many meanings to that phrase, but here is what it means for us at the Groveville United Methodist Prayer Ministry:

Praying is loving and loving is doing. God knows who is in need of prayer doesn’t he. So why do we need to pray?

  1. To be like our savior, who’s first thought is always for us and who, in agony on the cross, prayed, “Father forgive them for the know not what they do.”
  2. To be cognizant of the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ and not only that, to lift our hands to help them as well.
  3. To praise His name for all He is.

We would hope you will join us each Thursday evening at 7:00PM in our church sanctuary to share in this labor of love.
