One of the things that excites me most in ministry is creating spaces for conversation. Sometimes Sunday mornings go by too quickly and there is not enough time to talk, to ask questions, or to reflect together. That is why I am starting something very special with you, Coffee with David.
This is not a traditional Bible Study where the pastor speaks and everyone else listens. Instead, it is a time where the questions come from you. Sometimes people want to ask about the sermon, other times about something they read in the e-note, and sometimes about life, faith, or what is happening in the world. Every question matters.

Some weeks it may just be me with a cup of coffee, and that is perfectly fine. Other weeks one, two, or more may join, and that is when the richest conversations happen. What I love most is that the answers do not always come from me. Very often we learn from each other, celebrate when we agree, and learn to appreciate when we see things differently.
Meeting in a coffee shop also reminds us that church is not just about what happens inside our buildings on Sundays. It is about being present, visible, and open to the world around us. Sometimes people from the community notice and even join for a short moment, and that too is part of our ministry.
For me, Coffee with David is a way of living as the church outside the walls. It is a place to listen, to share, to learn, to grow, and to discover that we have more in common than we think.
I am happy to invite you to be part of Coffee with David, beginning next week on Tuesdays. Bring your questions, your stories, or simply your presence, and let us share this time together at Dunkin’ of Yardville.
Warmly,
Rev. David A Gaitan
