One of the things I admire most about God is how creative God is.
Remember the story of the Israelites escaping Egypt? Pharaoh’s army was chasing them, and right in front of them was the sea. They didn’t have ships. They didn’t even have a single canoa. Still, God didn’t say, “Sorry, there’s no way forward.” Instead, God opened the sea itself. Yes, the sea! That always makes me smile. God doesn’t need a boat when there’s imagination and power at work.
That story makes me wonder about us today. When we think about ministry here at Groveville, do we trust that same creative spirit? Do we believe that God can still make a way, even when we can’t see it yet?
We may not need to part an ocean (although maybe that could be fun), but we do need to ask honest and faithful questions.
What are the new paths God wants us to explore? What creative steps could we take to reach more people, grow in faith, and serve with joy?
So here’s my question for you this week: What can we do, with faith and imagination, to help our ministry at Groveville grow?
Let’s be open to fresh ideas. Maybe it’s something new in worship. Maybe it’s a different kind of community gathering. Maybe it’s how we welcome people or how we share our story. Big or small, God can use it.
I’d love to hear what’s on your heart. Bring your ideas, your prayers, and your creativity. God hasn’t run out of miracles, and we’re not out of options.
Warmly,
Rev. David A Gaitan
