We celebrated our 103 Thanksgiving Breakfast!

This Thanksgiving morning, our church family gathered once again for one of the most beautiful and enduring traditions of our community: our 103rd Thanksgiving Breakfast. When you stop to think about it, one hundred and three years is more than a number. It is a testimony of faith. It is the story of generations who have woken up early on Thanksgiving morning to cook, to welcome, to pray, and to share a meal that has become part of the very heart of our church. This breakfast has carried us through world wars, cultural changes, new pastors, new families, and so many seasons of life. And still, we gather. Still, we give thanks.

The food this year was absolutely delicious. The aroma of eggs, pancakes, pork roll, potatoes, and fresh coffee filled the fellowship hall before the day was even fully awake. People laughed, reached for seconds, shared stories, and enjoyed the simple joy of being together. There was something profoundly holy in that moment, a reminder that gratitude is both, a prayer we speak and a meal we share.

We also made memories that will stay with us. There were moments of laughter, moments of warm conversation, and moments when the room felt full of love. We sang hymns that connected us to those who stood in that same room decades before us. And we paused to remember the saints who once joined us at this breakfast but are now in God’s eternal presence. Their faces, their voices, their kindness, and their legacy are still alive in these gatherings. Every hymn we sang and every blessing we prayed held their memory with tenderness.

I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to everyone who organized this year’s breakfast. To those who cooked before sunrise, to those who planned details weeks ahead, to those who set up, served, and cleaned, and to everyone who brought a smile and a willing heart: thank you. Because of you, we celebrated another year of joy, another year of love, and another year of community. You have helped keep a 103-year tradition alive, and that is a gift beyond measure.

May the spirit of Thanksgiving continue to guide us, and may God bless this beautiful tradition for many years to come.
