2026, a brand New Year,
a fresh start,
a new morning
with freshly fallen snow!
New mercies, not just on Christmas, or New Year’s, but each and every morning.
“Happy New Year.“, I whispered to my husband as I quietly crept out of bed at 7:30. Going to the window and opening the curtains, I was looking forward to peeking outside and greeting this special day.
What? Oh my goodness!!! Really?!? Snow?!?
We had SNOOOW!!! I saw it right away. My heart was doing somersaults! Leaving the drapes half opened, I cried out, “Joe! JOE! We got snow overnight!”
I almost heard God laughing, “Surprise Georgie! Look what I wrapped up for you to open this morning!” He was definitely smiling at my Joy.
Words to a song, “Come, Let Us Reason (Isaiah 1:18)” by Ken Medema, immediately flooded my mind. I remembered first hearing them years ago on a retreat, when they settled in and grew, pushing their roots down deep into the heart of this then-18-year-old girl away from home, in her first semester at college.
Now, with every snowfall, I pause and remember.
“Come, let us reason together,”
that’s what God says.
“Come, let us reason together,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins be as scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson,
they shall be as wool.”
God has kept that promise to me ever since. He has kept that promise since the beginning of time, and continues to offer it to everyone. It’s a promise that’s available to all who come to Him.
“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be like wool.” Is. 1:18
As we take our first steps into 2026, let’s pause and remember the one who is calling us to “Come.” He is the foundation and the source of our hope.
“But this I call to mind, Therefore I have hope. It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, Because His tender compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:21-23 AMP
Happy New Year 2026
Let’s Come With JOY,
Georgie
